Avery Dennison is seeking a Finishing Operator to join the Industrial and Healthcare Material Group. In this role, you will be responsible for operating machinery in our Finishing Department while ensuring you are meeting safety and quality expectations. You will report to the Finishing Business Unit Manager, and your assigned shift will be working 11pm to 7am Monday-Friday.
Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety procedures, policies, and practices.
Maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Identify and escalate safety issues immediately.
Manufacture products to required product specifications for the assets in the Finishing Department. Be able to run the machines as well as pack the product to the required customer specifications.
Demonstrate compliance with current ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and GMP standards. Follow and understand batch records, standard operating conditions, job specifications, and other related instructions.
Complete all necessary documentation for production according to GDP requirements.
Participate in group problem-solving teams and other continuous improvement activities. Support ELS initiatives to improve manufacturing performance (throughput, scrap reduction, safety, ISO work instructions, ELS).
Operate a lift-truck to move or package product/finishing supplies. Be capable of material handling for all asset equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and inventory transactions.
High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in skilled labor position with demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
Must regard safety as a core value; must be willing and able to work safely; must always wear PPE.
Demonstrate a strong quality and service focus.
Good written and oral communication skills required.
Ability to read and comprehend documents related to product manufacturing.
Be able to work both individually and in a team-based environment.
Be willing and able to work during the designated hours and accept a reasonable amount of overtime (including weekends).
Demonstrated initiative, integrity, and judgment skills
Demonstrate record of embracing and contributing to daily ELS processes and tools - MDI, standard work, 5S, etc.
Must have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated reliability.
Be proficient with computer applications, especially strong ERP system transactional skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance periodically through the shift.
