AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Manufacturing floor: Screw Machines, 2nd Operation Chuckers, CNC Machine Centers, OD Grinders, other basic metal cutting machines.
REPORTS TO: Senior Quality Engineer / Quality Manager
POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Responsible for fulfilling the role of MSP Quality Inspector; this is a hands-on position. Ensure the quality of the parts produced at MSP meet all customer expectations and drawing specifications regarding dimensional checks, roughness specifications and visual standards using state-of-the-art inspection equipment. Quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found. Communicate results within the Quality Department and to the appropriate Production Personnel.

Responsibilities:
Inspection of production parts:
Follow AIAG Control Plans and Part Drawings to inspect all listed characteristics to specifications, using gaging methods established.
Provide quality support to production by responding to inspection needs that arise and communicate results in a timely manner.
Ability to explain inspection and gaging methods to machine operators.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal ? Regularly interact with Raw Materials, Quality, Engineering, Production, and all Manufacturing functions.
External ? None.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Technical
Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Blue Print reading and understanding.
Experience with attribute and variable gaging.
Three - Five years experience in the quality control field. Preferably would be familiar with automotive quality systems and documentation usage. (e.g. TS 16949, ISO).
Preferred Technical
Qualifications:
Technical knowledge of machining processes.
Formal training and previous experience as a machine shop inspector.
Certified Quality Technician.
Background in GD&T.

Computer Skills:Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Experience with various quality software applications is beneficial. (e.g. statistical analysis)
