We're looking for a business analyst with experience dealing with the finance and commercial sides of the business, preferably from a manufacturing company, to join our team at Avery Dennison! In this role, we expect you to be skilled in requirements gathering and partner management, and comfortable dealing with director level colleagues. A successful candidate in this role is a self starter with good time management and must be able to lead multiple activities. Good all round technical skills are needed for the role as well.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with our key business leaders to support them and demonstrate their business performance globally Clearly understand business needs, complexities and impact Drive continuous improvement of our IT practices, procedures and supporting tools Conduct detailed analyses to identify gaps with business operations and support design and implementation of IT system changes in line with the overall IT strategy of the Materials Group. Design technical solutions to meet business requirements Identify present and future opportunities for Business Intelligence solutions and modelling improvements. Align with other functions to identify options for solutions delivery. Conduct business analysis, needs assessment and preliminary cost benefit analysis. Proactively find opportunities for business system improvements aligned with business strategy. Mentor more less-experienced BI Analysts and Business Analysts in other disciplines Ability to operate independently without supervision Perform role as project manager for selected projects (medium to large-sized) Qualifications BS degree in computer science, engineering or business, MBA a plus 8
years of relevant experience in a business analyst or similar role 5
years of relevant experience in a finance or commercial role (Procurement or Pricing advantageous) Global experience required PM and CM certifications a plus Desired Skills &
Experience:
Experience in leading technical and complex projects is required Ability to express complex technical information in a way that non technical groups can understand Exposure to the use of technology as a strategic advantage Process documentation and continuous improvement Ability to facilitate cross functional meetings Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to mentor, coach and lead other business analysts Ability to operate independently without supervision Proactive in relationship building and finding opportunities for the business Experience managing multiple complex projects at the same time Knowledge of structured data, such as entities, classes, hierarchies, relationships and metadata. Hands-on experience & knowledge with reporting and BI tools, especially Oracle OBIEE and Data Warehouses, with the ability to create and understand:
- Functional requirements including business rules, data sources and processing needed to create the required insight for the organisation Prototypes / Mash-ups (Develop ad hoc reports and create and run SQL queries) Data profiling of source and target systems Conceptual Data Models Knowledge of financial terminology and processes such as sales, expense, product profitability, accounts payable/receivable, claims, rebate & allowances Understanding and prior experience of pricing analytics and Commercial finance are a plus Solid understanding of customer buying patterns and market growth
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Business Intelligence & AnalyticsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
